2007 marked the introduction by Daikin Europe of the Roundflow cassette, an R-410A ceiling-mounted cassette with a 360º radial airflow pattern. Its benefits: improved, uniform airflow and temperature distribution, lower air velocities and less draughts as a result of increased horizontal airflows. |

In 2006, Daikin Europe N.V. introduced Ururu Sarara, the world’s first split air conditioner to also control room humidity (without an external water source!) and ventilation. Air conditioning, air purification, humidity control and ventilation in a single package.

The application of years of Daikin expertise in heat pumps to the home heating market resulted in an exciting new product: Altherma. Heat stored in the ambient outside air is extracted and used for room heating and domestic sanitary hot water, providing extreme heating efficiency and room comfort, even in the heart of winter. As an option, Altherma is also available with a cooling function.

In April of 2006, Daikin Air Conditioning South Africa became an affiliate of Daikin Europe N.V. With its head office in Cape Town and sales branches in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, it also covers the markets of Namibia, Angola, Botswana and Zambia.
|  | Daikin Europe Middle East Office 2006 also saw the introduction of a new sales affiliate in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The facility increases Daikin Europe’s presence in the booming Middle East region with excellent logistics at a central location.

In April 2006, Daikin Air Conditioning Greece SA became a 100% subsidiary of Daikin Europe. Its mission: establish Daikin as the leading manufacturer of air conditioning systems in the local market, promote innovative Daikin technology, develop a competitive sales network and improve service both before and after sale.

Arguably the most important event of 2006 was the acquisition by Daikin Industries Ltd. of OYL Industries, parent company of McQuay International, AAF International and J&E Hall. The result: Daikin to offer the most comprehensive product and service line in the industry and strong coverage of all world markets.

July of 2006 saw the opening of a new Daikin Europe representative office in Ireland. Existing distributors in booming Ireland now benefit from the support such an office can provide, and the way is smoothed for Daikin’s expansion throughout the country.

Water-cooled VRV II introduced to the market, opening the way for the application of VRV technology to medium and large-sized commercial projects.
Daikin Europe is given full responsibility for developing and serving the markets in Africa and the Middle East. |
2004
|  | Continued development of European markets: Daikin Europe Greek Office is established; Daikin Air Conditioning Portugal SA is set up. A third UK distributor, MacQueen Air Conditioning, is acquired by Daikin Europe NV with as goal a fully integrated Daikin Air Conditioning UK by the fourth quarter of 2005. Plans are announced for a major new R&D centre in Osaka Japan. Two new production plants are established in the Czech Republic cities of Plzen and Brno.
Significant progress is made in obtaining ISO certification at all levels of the Daikin operation: Daikin France and Daikin Central Europe obtain ISO 14001 certification. |

The VRV heat recovery series is introduced, offering simultaneous cooling and heating from different indoor units on the same refrigerant circuit. This became a popular system worldwide for imporved energy efficiency ratios and subsequent lower operational cost. |

| | The end of the year sees the launch of the VRV inverter system allowing to operate up to 8 indoor units from one single outdoor unit. Inverter capacity control greatly increases the flexibility and efficiency of the system. |
