Announcement for repair of Daikin Air Purifier with Humidification Function (MCK75JVM-K)
Daikin announces a problem with its Air Purifier with Humidification Function manufactured between November 2008 till end of February 2010. Although no incidents have been reported in the EMEA territory, Daikin as being very concerned about the well-being and the safety of its customers, Daikin decided to offer its customers free inspections and repairs.
The potential problem for this Air Purifier model only occurs when installed in ammonia rich environments and in combination with a relative humidity higher than 70%. Under these circumstances it can happen that there is a potential risk of ignition in the deodorizing filter. An electric discharge in the deodorizing filter can occur through the dust collection filter in the electric dust collector. Ammonia series can precipitate to the deodorizing filter, functioning as an auxiliary combustion material, resulting in a potential ignition of the deodorizing filter.

By replacing three parts the problem is solved:

What to do if your Air Purifier model is in scope?
In case your Air Purifier model is in scope, you are eligible for the inspection and repair kit. In that case please contact our call center for further instructions:

Three possible options are available to repair your unit:
Option 1: Register your unit at the call center. You will receive a repair kit which you can install yourself.
Option 2: Register your unit at the call center. A local dealer will come to visit you and do the repair works.
Option 3: Register your unit at the call center. You send the unit back to Daikin who will do the repair works and send it back to you.

What to do if your Air Purifier model is not in scope?
In case your Air Purifier model is not in scope (other product name, serial number different than the one listed above or manufacturing date earlier than November 2008 or later than February 2010) no action is required.
