Daikin CE and AHT Cooling Systems are joining forces in 16 countries. The new strategic business unit will focus on commercial refrigeration making it the next important step in the company’s path of becoming the #1 provider in the segment.
Vienna, July 2020 – Daikin Central Europe (Daikin CE) has established a new strategic business unit focusing on commercial refrigeration. The new segment will combine the product and service range of both Daikin and AHT with a clear focus in mind: To serve and support customers in the food retail industry even better. The final acquisition of AHT in 2019, brought Daikin closer to its goal of becoming a full-service provider. The new unit will now offer and embody the “One-Stop-Shop” concept and is combing the experience of Daikin CE and AHT staff and partners.
Daikin takes the lead as a full-service provider
Aptly named “Project FRESH”, Daikin Central Europe's new Strategic Business Unit will be offering the entire Daikin Group’s product portfolio related to food retail and commercial refrigeration from a single source.
The wide range of Daikin and AHT products and services, ensures that individual requirements can easily be met. The SBU will be led by Daniel Winch, who currently heads the commercial department at Daikin Central Europe and will be fully supported by an experienced AHT team.
“I am very much looking forward to this new challenge and believe that with the combined strengths of AHT and Daikin, we will be able to offer food retailers a world-class solution to their day-to-day operational needs and provide the highest level of sustainable HVACR solutions on the market”, says Winch. Winch joined Daikin in 2016, having brought 25 years of experience in the HVACR industry and previously working for Carrier. Daniel Winch will assume full responsibility for sales and service of commercial refrigeration in 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
The SBU will provide the food retail industry with a complete portfolio of turnkey solutions that both, existing AHT key accounts and future customers, will benefit from.
Combining expertise to drive efficiency
Since the acquisition of AHT in 2019, Daikin Group and AHT have been working on proposals to improve synergy sales of Daikin Group products in the food retail and forecourt sectors. Since it began offering commercial refrigeration solutions in 2000, Daikin has become a trusted partner to the retail industry.
AHT has decades of experience in developing, producing and selling exceptionally energy efficient freezing and cooling equipment. By combining forces, Daikin is on the way of achieving its goal of further strengthening its sales and customer service structure.
“We are very excited about being at the forefront of the new business strategy of the Daikin Group and turning the idea of being stronger together into reality.” says Carl Lievens, Managing Director, Daikin Central Europe. Daikin is becoming a full-service provider by offering a complete range of air conditioning and refrigeration products. Martin Krutz, CEO AHT Cooling Systems, adds: “Combining the power and knowledge of Daikin and AHT will create a whole new purchasing experience for our clients that all parties involved will benefit from.”
