Climate-friendly duo: New Roundflow Cassette expands Daikin’s CO2 Conveni-Pack range for supermarkets and small retail stores

Press Release, March 2022

Daikin introduced a new Roundflow Cassette (FXFN series) for the use with its integrated HVAC-R system CO2 Conveni-Pack which is suitable for installations in suspended false ceilings as well as in open ceilings. CO2 Conveni-Pack offers not just convincing benefits such as lowest refrigerant emissions but also a multitude of combination possibilities for supermarkets and retailers. The new indoor unit for cooling, heating, ventilation and dehumidification is available since February 2022.

Vienna, March 2022 – “By choosing CO2 Conveni-Pack, food retailers benefit from improved  functionality and better system efficiency,  which supports them to achieve their environmental and sustainability goals. As the system runs on natural refrigerant R-744 (CO2) with a Global Warming Potential of 1, its environmental impact is reduced to a minimum. In times of rising energy costs, opting for this new energy efficient solution further improves return on investment”, says Daniel Winch, General Manager Total Solutions Sales & Engineering at Daikin Central Europe.

Compact indoor unit with intelligent technology

The new device of the FXFN series promises to be one of Daikin’s most compact indoor units and is available in the building sizes 50, 71 and 112. With an incorporated heat recovery function, the launched Roundflow Cassette is available in capacities of 5.6kW, 8kW and 12.5kW for cooling and 6.3kW, 9kW and 14 kW for heating

It features a new, two-part heat exchanger, developed specifically for the requirements of CO2 technology. Capable of fitting most flush into any ceiling, the unit is clad with sound and heat insulation, achieving sound pressure levels of 31 to 46db(A)

Air is distributed 360o horizontally in the room thanks to the cover panels and the unique round flow technology. Branch duct discharge allows to optimize air distribution in irregular shaped rooms or to supply air to small adjacent rooms. Motorized, independently adjustable air blades also enable a variety of air outlet patterns (2, 3 or 4-side) and different fixed air discharge angles. Control is via either the Madoka wired remote control or Intelligent Touch Manager (iTM) which help to improve energy efficiency.

Elegant design

A large selection of colored decoration panels is offered including designer panels in white (RAL9010) and black (RAL9005) and standard panels in white (RAL9010) with grey louvres or all-white. Optional automatic self-cleaning filters guarantee higher efficiency and comfort as well as lower maintenance costs.

Flexible installation

The new Roundflow Cassette offers the lowest installation height in the market: 214mm for class 20 – 63, an optional fresh air intake and a standard drain pump with 675 mm lift increasing flexibility and installation speed.

“With all these benefits in mind we are happy to announce that the new indoor Roundflow Cassette model for our CO2 Conveni-Pack is available in all 16 markets of the Daikin Central Europe region since February 2022”, says Winch.
