Fresh and clean air in commercial and industrial spaces with new Daikin direct expansion coil module

Press Release, February 2022

Combinable with Daikin’s updated VAM-J8 decentralized ventilation unit, the new direct expansion coil module – EKVDX-A – allows the supply of fresh air while minimising the heat load impact of fresh air on comfort air-conditioning systems.

Vienna, February 2022 – The demand for fresh air supply in commercial and industrial buildings is increasing in the quest to ensure safe, healthy indoor environments. It is essential to ensure the correct airflow at ideal temperature and humidity conditions. The Daikin VAM ventilation unit with its integral supply and exhaust fans and filtration linked to an external DX coil unit and connected units provides the ideal solution for smaller scale ventilation applications.

Superior performance with outstanding flexibility

The currently available VKM-GB HRV unit with integrated DX coil will be replaced by Daikin’s latest solution consisting of two casings: The EKVDX-A DX coil module connects to the new VAM-J8 ventilation range, which has been redeveloped to incorporate additional PCB and control software to allow this combination. The connection of the two units is achieved through field-supplied ducting. The new configuration delivers enhanced performance with a high external static pressure up to 150 Pa. Additionally, it allows maximum flexibility in positioning, enabling horizontal, vertical or upside-down installation of the VAM unit and can be connected to both R-32 and R-401A VRV systems.

In combination with the new VAM-J8, the EKVDX-A covers air flows from 500 up to 2,000 m3 per hour with cooling capacities of up to 18 kW and heating capacities of up to 30kW.

Fully compliant and easy to select

Certified to CE and CB standards, the new EKVDX-A DX coil will be integrated with both Daikin’s VRV Web Xpress and Ventilation Xpress selection software for fast, simple specification and easy introduction in a VRV project.

Available for distribution from February 2022, the new units are produced in Europe to ensure fast, easy supply from stock. For more information and technical details visit https://www.daikin.eu/en_us/products/ekvdx-a.html
