Insights from insiders – Daikin Europe issues activity report on fiscal year 2021

Press release, July 2022

Current societal challenges and Daikin Europe’s role as industry leader are in the focus of the newly issued activity report that offers a glimpse behind the scenes of the company’s growth story, its impact as solution provider and the ambitious 5-year strategic business plan Fusion25. The report covers key topics such as manufacturing, innovation, R&D, investments, customer centricity, sustainability or talent management.

Brussels, July 2022 – Today, Daikin Europe brings around 5,800,000 cooling, heating, refrigeration and ventilation units  to the market per year. According to its proximity strategy around 82% of the equipment the group sells is made in 12 manufacturing sites in Europe and Turkey. Residential air-to-water heat pumps are 100% made in Europe. Producing locally enables the company to limit the environmental impact of logistics and make a significant contribution to local economies and communities. With a 25% growth in turnover in fiscal year 2021 (April 2021 – March 2022), Daikin Europe marked its 10th consecutive year of growth. In the same year, the company launched its 5-year strategic business plan Fusion25 that is the roadmap for future growth. The ambition is clear: Daikin intends to take the lead in offering low-carbon solutions in cooling, heating, ventilation and refrigeration.

A clear vision for the future

Our society is confronted with one of the biggest challenges humanity has ever faced. With the effects of climate change being felt all around the world, the urgency to act has never been greater. As industry leader, Daikin sees it as its duty to take responsibility and use its impact to be part of the solution. The market needs innovation, cooperation and firm action. “One of these firm actions is the recently announced Daikin Europe investment of 300 million Euro in a new residential heat pump factory in Łódź, Poland, to respond to the rapidly accelerating market demand in Europe”, says Carl Lievens, Managing Director of Daikin Central Europe headquartered in Vienna, who is responsible for sales and service activities in 16 markets in Central and South-Eastern Europe including Poland.
