The BEA (Business, Education, Acceleration) campus in Olomouc is home to a number of innovative companies, a university, apartments, shops and restaurants. It also offers low cost space for start-up businesses.
The 18 storey building offers flexible space that can be adapted according to tenants’ needs and, as a result, required a climate control solution that was equally flexible; one that could be adapted quickly and easily.
Daikin’s VRV heat recovery system was the perfect choice. VRV’s modular nature means it can be adapted floor-by-floor to match changes in building use.
The system offers high levels of efficiency by integrating heating, cooling, ventilation and air curtains, recovering waste heat from areas requiring cooling and using it to heat other areas. It is controlled by a Daikin intelligent Touch Manager, giving tenants control over the climate of their individual floors or offices and ensuring they only pay for the energy they use.
Fresh air is supplied by VAM heat reclaim ventilation units that also recover heat to help reduce system load further and increase efficiency.

The compact VRV outdoor units are mounted on the building’s roof.

The indoor units are discrete, matching the building’s sleek interior design.

22 VRV outdoor units serve more than 320 indoor cassettes throughout the 18 storey building.
