Daikin moves 210.000 m³/h of fresh air through Poland’s top broadcast studio, support the production with highest comfort

Performance That Stays Behind the Scenes

Polsat’s Łubinowa 4A complex is one of the most advanced broadcast facilities in Poland. At its core is an 18-meter-tall, 2.400 m² main hall designed to handle everything from TV shoots and film productions to live concerts and corporate events. A movable acoustic wall allows the space to be split into two independent sets, each with its own access through a 900 m² foyer. Surrounding that are more than 3.000 m² of backstage support - including directing rooms, makeup and dressing suites, costume storage, offices, and a catering floor that opens onto a rooftop terrace.

Designing HVAC for a space like this meant solving for capacity, precision, and near-silent operation. Daikin delivered on all fronts.

Engineered for airflow and silence

At the heart of the system are 11 Professional series air handling units, which together supply 210.000 m³/h of fresh air. The two largest units each deliver 82.000 m³/h with 600 Pa of external static pressure to support peak performance even during full-capacity productions. Each AHU is equipped with 1.500 mm length silencers (sound attenuators) on the intake and exhaust sides, keeping sound pressure levels as low as 64 dB(A) at one meter from AHU.

Reliable airflow was just the start. Air-cooled scroll chillers installed at ground level provide high-efficiency, low-noise cooling for the AHUs to reduce structural load and simplify maintenance. For dressing rooms, common areas, and production support zones, seven VRV IV systems deliver efficient, year-round comfort with free heating, heat recovery, zone-specific control, and 24/7 remote monitoring - even in winter conditions down to –20 °C.
