Daikin develops and manufactures many of its solutions in Europe including the air-to-water heat pump Daikin Altherma. Our aim is to design products that address local climate conditions and customer needs in residential, commercial and industrial settings.
Since 1924, we have been providing heating, cooling, ventilation, air purification and refrigeration solutions. Founded in Japan, we operate globally and have maintained a presence in Europe for more than 50 years, with the Daikin Europe N. V. headquarters located in Ostend, Belgium. Our European development and manufacturing facilities support production close to the market and help maintain short transport routes. These milestones reflect our longstanding presence in Europe and ongoing operations and investments across the region.
In the EMEA region, Daikin manufactures heat pumps, air conditioners, ventilation and refrigeration systems at 15 HVAC-R manufacturing facilities. Twelve of these facilities are located in Europe, one in Turkey and two in the Middle East.3)
Daikin's manufacturing footprint in Europe is complemented by research and development facilities located at key manufacturing sites across the continent. The Daikin Europe Research and Development Centre in Ghent, Belgium, serves as the global R&D centre for air-to-water heat pump heating and as R&D centre for DX systems, cold chain solutions, and electronics and controls.
