Dual education for a promising future in the HVAC-R industry
High unemployment rates among young adults, no perspectives and lack of skilled labor are key challenges for Serbia's economy. A dual education program initiated by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, with legal support from the Serbian Ministry of Education, started in 2013 to tackle the problem. Today, about 8,000 students are educated for various educational profiles in 150 schools, 52 cities and municipalities in cooperation with about 700 companies.
Daikin’s trusted sales agent in Serbia and Montenegro – Heating and Cooling Experts – has been one of them since 2017 and contributed to creating a new educational profile for HVAC-technicians or technicians for refrigeration equipment that meet the needs of the market. For school year 21/22 and 22/23 a minimum of 4 students will start the standardized curriculum and thereby become specialists in a rapidly growing industry. Students spend 50 percent of their education time with practical work at the employer’s company.
Project period: currently 2021-2023
