The newest additions to Daikin’s range of air cooled R-410A multiple scroll chiller and heat pump add unique options for specifiers looking for cooling only or heat pump solutions, while offering unbeatable value.
Meeting capacity requirements between 75kW to 150kW, the EWA/YQ~G- series offers an affordable, energy-efficient solution to meet all year round heating and cooling needs. Among the most compact units on the market, the latest additions to the Daikin multi-scroll chillers collection offer the ideal solution for direct unit replacements and installations where space is tight, with fast and easy installation and reduced commissioning times.
Energy efficient
The Daikin multi-scroll family has been optimised and designed to achieve maximum efficiencies, running at both full and partial loads, to ensure low running costs. All high efficiency models (standard sound in cooling only version) are Eurovent certified to Class A.
The cooling only series incorporates micro-channel condenser coils which offer a high thermal efficiency with a small refrigerant charge. Heat recovery options available for cooling only versions offer the potential for further energy savings: in total recovery mode, up to 85% of chiller heat is reused, while partial recovery delivers up to 20% of chiller heat rejection.
Quiet operation
The new EWAQ~G- (cooling only) and EWYQ~G- (heat pump) series offers quiet operation for sound-sensitive projects. Supplied with continuous fan speed modulation as standard, the system is also available in reduced sound versions with additional acoustic insulation for compressors and reduced fan speeds.
Maximum flexibility and versatility in use
With its small footprint and modular approach, the Daikin EWA/YQ~G- multi-scroll series provides complete freedom in design and operation to suit a wide range of applications and operating conditions, as well as offering easy access for maintenance.
Supplied with an electronic expansion valve as standard, the new air cooled R-410A multi-scroll chiller and heat pump range also features a single circuit with two scroll compressors and plate-to-plate heat exchangers. The carefully-developed, space-saving design allows the on-board installation of a hydronic kit with single- or double-pump and tank without increasing the exterior unit dimensions, an important consideration when replacing or retrofitting units in existing installations.
Total control is achieved with a master/slave control supplied as standard, enabling the simultaneous operation of up to four chiller units working as a single unit. This results in precise and efficient capacity control and is also useful for back up purposes, ensuring that the necessary amount of cooling is available and guaranteeing reliable operation of the chiller plant.
