Just in time for the International Day of Giving, “Giving Tuesday ”, on November 28, 2017, Daikin – the world's leading manufacturer and distributor of air conditioning, heat pumps and cooling solutions – publishes details of its charitable activities in 2017.
Vienna, November 28th 2017 – Empathy has many facets and is one of the preconditions for human coexistence. Even a small act can make an enormous difference. For this reason, Daikin launched the international charity initiative "Daikin For Life" in 2006. Under the guiding principle "We care about people", various local organizations in Central and Eastern Europe are selected every year and supported with a donation.
Achieving more together
Doing something for those in need keeps humanity together. Many charitable organizations finance themselves mainly through donations and could not exist without the help of society. The air-conditioning specialist is aware of this, that is why Corporate Social Responsibility is part of the corporate culture. “We are delighted to support great projects year after year. We want to make our contribution to both nature and society”, emphasized Carl Lievens, Managing Director of Daikin Central Europe.
Donations instead of gifts
Christmas is a time of giving. Instead of spending large sums of money on printed Christmas cards or expensive gifts, Daikin prefers to support charities and people in need. “We want to help where support is most urgently needed and ensure that it reaches the right places”, said Lievens.
A European initiative of giving
All countries of Daikin Central Europe are involved in “Daikin For Life”. The employees of most countries are included in the decision, which local organization receives the donation this year.
