DAIKIN lives up to its commitment toward nature and society. An example for this is Romania, where DAIKIN is aiming to plant over 10,000 trees in 15 counties across the country.
Vienna, August 4th, 2017 – Forests worldwide are under threat (as well as clean air). In Romania alone, more than 3 forest hectares are cut down each hour. DAIKIN’s campaign “We plant air” carried out in collaboration with the nationwide initiative “Planting good deeds in Romania” is aiming to address the growing problem of deforestation in Romania.
This is not an isolated case. As a matter of fact, DAIKIN is involved in numerous initiatives aiming at safeguarding the environment. Just as DAIKIN supports social commitment in the countries it has subsidiaries. Romania is an excellent example.
DAIKIN joined the national forestation initiative based on its belief in the power of good example and that nature protection demands for joint efforts. Crucial part of the initiative is its dedicated platform www.plantamaer.ro where customers can find more information on the campaign’s work as well as eco-friendly advice for their everyday lives. Furthermore, the initiative offers registration possibilities to participate as planting volunteer for the national forestation day organized on November 18, 2017.
“The idea for this campaign sprang from an inside initiative last fall when we succeeded in mobilizing in just a few weeks several partners and donate the amount needed to plant 1,400 saplings in an area affected by landslides in the Teleorman County”, explains Daniel Vasile, Managing Director at DAIKIN Romania. “Our clients’ comfort and our care for the environment are two of DAIKIN’s top priorities. Having long been responsible for the air quality of your homes, we are now undertaking to also do something for the outdoor air quality.”
The products registered in the campaign are listed on www.plantamaer.ro and can be purchased through the Daikin authorized partners in the country: http://www.daikin.ro/dealers/index.jsp
