Creating a New Climate

Press Release, May 18th, 2018

Where ideas are exchanged and thoughts are expressed Daikin plants a forest. High up in the mountains of Tyrol where leaders and thinkers from around the world meet and talk and walk together each summer. Now it is the Daikin International Partner Conference which is taking place in Alpbach – and leaving a footprint.

Vienna, May 2018 –  Every third year Daikin Central Europa (CE) invites its top partners from throughout the region to come together for a few days of exchange, cooperation and new experiences. In 2018 Alpbach – the well-known village in the mountains of Tyrol – has been chosen to be the place to meet for the International Partner Conference (IPC), Daikin´s major customer event for partners.

From 25th until 27th of April more than 400 participants had the opportunity to gain in-depth insights into the latest trends in the market as well as to enter an open and transparent dialogue about the future. “We are here to prove that Daikin is a trustworthy and reliable partner. Today and tomorrow”, says Carl Lievens, Managing Director of Daikin CE.  “Vivid discussion and teamwork with all our partners are important to grasp what is important for them and for their customers.  That is why we introduced „Partner Up Sessions“, during which our partners freely speak out their opinion and share with us their great ideas and visions. In this way, we create the next level of partnership with our B2B partners: Partnership 2.0.”

Trees for the future

Yet, there is more to Alpbach then just talks and presentations. Daikin invited its guests and partners to join in on a social walk to enjoy the beauty of the mountains. And to add a little extra. Based on the already existing Daikin sustainability project “Forest for The Air”, for every walked kilometer of every participant, Daikin plants a tree. During the event, already the first trees of this “Daikin Partner Forest” were put in the ground. In Alpbach the woods must be reforested regularly by law in order to compensate for clearing pastures for skiing trails etc. As some farmers struggle to comply due to lack of time and money, Daikin plans to have 2020 trees planted. This is an act of sustainability as well as of the new partnership. “It is all about creating a better and unique climate together”, Lievens says.
