To Daikin ‘We care about people’ is more than just another slogan. It is a commitment. Therefore, the world's leading manufacturer and distributor of air conditioning, heat pumps and cooling solutions publishes details of its charitable activities within the framework of ‘Daikin for Life’.
Vienna, February 2019 – Following the principle "We care about people" Daikin launched the international charity initiative "Daikin For Life" in 2006. As even a small act can make an enormous difference Daikin supports various local organizations in Central and Eastern Europe in delivering their work to communities or the environment.
A contribution ...
initiatives prove to be important for societies as they often focus on issues disregarded by the public. Yet, many charitable organizations finance themselves mainly through donations and could not exist without the support of individuals or companies. Being aware of these circumstances is why Corporate Social Responsibility is an important part of Daikin´s corporate culture. “Looking back, we have been supporting great projects ever since ‘Daikin for Life’ has been founded. We know how to make a difference in our contribution to both nature and society”, emphasized Carl Lievens, Managing Director of Daikin Central Europe.
... out of commitment
With the help of ‘Daikin for Life’, charitable institutions are supported all the year. Especially at Christmas, Daikin prefers to support charities and people in need instead of spending large sums of money on Christmas cards or gifts. “We are confident that our clients, customers, partners and friends share our point of view and help Daikin to help where support is most urgently needed”, said Lievens.
A Daikin initiative of caring
This year, Daikin supports neunerhaus with a donation of € 4,000. The social organization was founded in 1999 and aims to meet the needs and desires of homeless people and offers about 570 people a self-determined and decent life. Since medical care and social work go hand in hand, there neunerhaus also runs a health center. Last year alone, 4,400 homeless and uninsured people received medical care, including 280 children. Daikin employees in Brunn am Gebirge have decided to support neunerhaus as a part of "Daikin for Life". In addition - as every year - there is also a financial contribution from Daikin for two families in need in Brunn am Gebirge
