Daikin to support victims of earthquakes in Turkey

Press release, February 2023

Daikin Europe N.V. announced a donation of 230,000 euro worth of supplies to the people of Turkey affected by the recent earthquakes.

Brussels, February 2023 - Daikin Europe is deeply concerned about the people affected by the recent major earthquakes and has decided, on behalf of the Daikin Group, to donate 230,000 euro worth of supplies to the affected areas. Daikin Europe's subsidiary, Daikin Turkey, will procure the necessary emergency supplies, such as winter clothing, blankets, food, water and medicines. Together with its local business partners, Daikin Turkey will deliver these supplies to the affected areas in collaboration with authorized institutions and organizations.

Furthermore, Daikin Europe group employees in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) will raise funds and make donations, and Daikin Europe will deliver it to the affected areas adding an amount equal to the collected donations.

Masatsugu Minaka, Senior Executive Officer of Daikin Industries and Chairman of the Board of Daikin Europe, said: ‘We are deeply saddened by the devastation and suffering caused by these earthquakes. Turkey is a very important country for us, as we have many colleagues in the offices and factory of our subsidiary, Daikin Turkey. Many more Turkish colleagues who work in our EMEA region are concerned over family and friends in their home country. We hope that the everyday life can soon be restored to the people of Turkey. Daikin will continue to ensure the safety and security of our employees and to support the relief efforts."
