Vienna, December 2024 – For over 100 years, Daikin has been innovating heating, cooling, and ventilation solutions for commercial applications. With the latest addition to the FWF-D fan coil product range, the premium HVAC brand completes its brushless direct current (BLDC) cassette lineup, offering significant advantages for commercial spaces such as offices, hotels, and retail shops.

Daikin is pleased to announce the launch of the new FWC-D 3x3 (900 x 900) cassette fan coil unit. This innovative product line features a brushless direct current (BLDC) fan motor and open protocol control capability. Alongside the 2x2 (600 x 600) FWF-D range introduced in early 2024, this new product brings significant advantages to the lineup. The BLDC fan motor offers high efficiency, resulting in reduced running costs and quiet operation. The unit provides cooling capacities ranging from 6 to 9.7 kW and is available with two attractive design panels to complement various architectural layouts. Read more about the benefits:
Brushless direct current (BLDC) fan motor
The BLDC fan motor operates on direct current and features a brushless design, offering greater energy efficiency and lower operating costs compared to an alternating current motor. Additionally, the absence of brushes reduces wear and tear on the motor components, extending its lifespan and minimizing maintenance needs. Another advantage is quieter operation compared to conventional motors.
Open protocol
The open protocol feature supports a standardized communication protocol, enabling interaction with other devices within the building management system (BMS) or HVAC system. This facilitates integration with larger systems and equipment from different manufacturers. As it is based on an open standard, maintenance and repairs can be carried out more easily by various service technicians without requiring specialized knowledge of a proprietary system. It also allows full integration with other Daikin fan coil unit controllers, such as FWEC3A / FWEC10 / FWECSAP.
Two configurations: 2-pipe and 4-pipe
This FWC-D unit is available in two configurations: 2-pipe and 4-pipe. The 2-pipe version is ideal for systems where a seasonal changeover of operating mode is expected, utilizing a simpler design with a single water circuit. The 4-pipe version, in contrast, features separate circuits for hot and cool water, making it well-suited for applications requiring simultaneous heating and cooling of different rooms. This configuration offers greater flexibility and convenience, as it can adapt to the varying thermal needs within the same building, providing enhanced control and comfort.
Factory-mounted valves
The factory-mounted valves simplify and accelerate installation, reducing overall installation time. This approach ensures greater reliability, as the valves are assembled in compliance with Daikin’s high-quality standards. Additionally, an optimal drain pan is available to enhance safety and provide protection against condensation water.
Design flexibility and thermal comfort with four diffusion panels
The FWC-D 3x3 cassette fan coil unit distributes air through four outlet panels, allowing airflow to be directed in different directions. This ensures more even air distribution, uniform climate control, and improved thermal comfort. Next to the standard diffusion panel, design panels are available. A new feature is the option to choose black design panels alongside the traditional white option.
