Carbon-neutral Environmental Vision 2050 – SBTi validated
As the world’s leading air conditioning manufacturer1), responding to climate change is a top priority in Daikin’s ESG ambitions. The company’s “Environment Vision 2050” aims for net zero GHG (Greenhouse gas) emissions across the full lifecycle of its products and all business activities by 2050.
In August 2025, Daikin’s net zero target for 2050 was approved by SBTi, confirming they are aligned with the latest climate science to help limit global warming to well below 2°C, ideally 1.5°C, as established by the Paris Agreement.
SBTi’s approval covers Daikin’s commitment to reach net zero across its value chain. It does not include the contributions to indirect avoided emissions, by for example replacing fossil fuel technology with electric heat pump heating technology for example, so Daikin’s own Environmental Vision is broader than what is certified by SBTi.
