Optimise – Daikin360

Extend the life of your equipment with our compressor lifetime solutions

Our approach

Extend the life of your equipment with our compressor lifetime solutions, including overhauls. Like any complex system, periodic inspections and the timely replacement of parts can add years to your equipment’s lifecycle. This is especially important when capital budgets are tight or uncertain.

By detecting potential issues during the off-season, we help prevent costly failures in peak periods, saving you hours of downtime and potentially thousands of euros in emergency repairs.

Daikin recommends a compressor overhaul after 40.000 running hours.

Our comprehensive approach to equipment assurance starts with our Daikin chiller service professionals. All our specialists receive factory training to ensure your equipment continues to perform and supports your organisation’s long-term goals.

What is an overhaul?

An overhaul aims to restore the compressor to its original performance by replacing wearable parts before they fail. Because the compressor is typically the most wear-intensive component in a chiller, it’s the main focus of the overhaul. However, depending on the condition of the unit, other components may also be serviced.

Overhauls are a key part of your chiller’s long-term maintenance strategy. They help ensure optimal performance, reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns, and extend the equipment's overall lifespan.

When to overhaul?

To ensure reliable performance and reduce the likelihood of failure, we recommend the following maintenance schedule:

  • Every 40.000 running hours: Major overhaul of the compressor, as per factory guidelines
  • Every 20.000 running hours: Minor overhaul for screw chillers
  • Every 10.000 running hours: Visual inspection with oil and filter replacement (based on field experience)

These proactive steps are essential for maintaining long-term efficiency and reliability.

Because overhauls are planned interventions, they can be scheduled during low seasons to minimise operational disruption.

How to overhaul?

  1. System evaluation
During maintenance visits or separate inspections, we test and evaluate the performance of your system.
  2. Recommendation
We identify components that can improve performance and extend the unit’s lifespan.
  3. Overhaul
Overhauls are carried out either in our workshop or on site, when conditions allow.
  4. Reporting
You’ll receive a full overview of the work completed and the findings.

If a compressor breaks down before an overhaul is performed, we can still help. In this case, the unit is sent to the factory for full repair. If you don’t have a redundant chiller in place to cover the downtime, our Daikin360 Rental solutions can keep your operations running while we carry out the repair.

Good to know:
Every repaired compressor comes with a 1-year factory warranty, giving you peace of mind when it comes to your HVAC equipment.
