Beating the winter cold with Daikin

When the outdoor temperature drops, it’s important to have the right system to maintain an ideal indoor climate. To achieve that, Daikin’s heat pump offers a smart heating solution and is more energy efficient than ever.

Vienna, November 6th 2017 – A click is all it takes to spread cosy warmth in the room. Even when it snows and storms outside, the temperature inside is comfortable. Heat plays a significant role when it comes to well-being. That’s why it is important to think about the optimal heating supply.

Many aspects play a role in deciding the right room temperature. And these are very individual: how sensitive am I for warmth, how important is energy efficiency, how high are the running costs for the system.   According to the German Federal Environment Agency, up to six percent of heating costs can be saved per degree.  The optimum room temperature depends primarily on the respective function of the room. Often a compromise is made between comfort and the lowest possible costs.

In the living room, one usually pursues passive activities such as watching TV or relaxing, but these activities usually last the longest. A room temperature of 20-23 degrees Celsius is recommended. Like the bathroom, where bathing and showering happens, a pleasant feeling of warmth is given at 23 degrees Celsius. Due to the high humidity, this room must be adequately ventilated. A child’s room is used day and night. During the day the most suitable room temperature is 20-22 degrees Celsius, while in the evening it drops to 18 degrees Celsius. For babies, however, higher temperatures should create a pleasant room climate. In the kitchen and in the bedroom a room temperature of 18 degrees Celsius is recommended. Oven, stove and other kitchen utensils heat the room anyway, while in the bedroom lower temperatures provide a good sleeping climate.

If several rooms are not used for a longer period, the temperature should be reduced to 15 degrees Celsius. The heating system should not be switched off completely, because it costs much more energy to reheat the rooms completely, as opposed to running the heating system at medium temperature and increasing it to 20 degrees Celsius when present.

Comfort is only a click away

Thanks to Daikin’s heat pumps, such as the Daikin Altherma 3, settings for consistent room temperatures at any time can be controlled remotely from anywhere via the Daikin Online Controller app. The heat pump is quick and easy to install, providing homeowners with the highest energy rated comfort – and no matter how cold it may be outside, thanks to Daikin´s pedigree trademark in frost protection down to -25°C. Rated A+++, the heat pump is equally suited for new buildings as well as your low energy home, with the possibility of a connection to underfloor heating systems and radiators - the ideal choice to stay warm and comfortable at home. So that winter has no chance.
