Continuing to focus on energy efficiency and space-saving solutions for commercial applications, Daikin has introduced two new compact, energy recovery ventilation units, which not only comply with, but exceed new ErP requirements.
The two series offer a mainstream and high-end model to satisfy the different ventilation requirements in the market.
New VAM-J series enthalpy recovery unit
Adding to the existing VAM generation, the new VAM-J series offer a fresh air and ventilation control system for shops, restaurants and offices.
The features which have established the existing VAM range as a class leader have been retained in the new VAM-J. The optional CO2 sensor, combined with a choice of medium or fine dust filters (M6, F7 and F8) optimises indoor air quality. As with the current series, an enthalpy exchanger, manufactured from High Efficiency Paper (HEP) not only exchanges heat, but also moisture. This provides higher energy savings and comfort levels by maintaining constant levels of humidity throughout the building, avoiding the uncomfortable extremes of dry or humid indoor climates.
In developing the latest VAM-J Series, Daikin has revisited the design of the heat exchanger. A new diamond-shape offers improved energy efficiencies, while retaining the lowest installation height for a paper heat exchanger unit in the market (301mm for a 350/500 class). In addition to the savings achieved through heat recovery technology, the VAM-J series also incorporates a new energy-efficient DC fan motor.
Installation has been simplified, with no need for drain pipes and easy adjustment of nominal airflow rates shortening installation times. Where dampers were previously needed to balance the air flows, making it difficult to match the air flow to the design conditions settings can now be changed on the wired remote controller, ensuring fast setup and optimum operation.
The VAM-J and FC series combined encompass a wide range of units with flow rates from 150 to 2,000m3/h.
New Modular light premium efficiency ventilation unit
Responding to market demand for a high-performance ventilation unit for wider application, a new heat recovery ventilation unit has been developed within our Daikin Applied R&D Center.
Needing a clearance of only 280mm (up to 500m³/h) in height for installation, this VDI 6022 compliant unit has the lowest overall installation height in the market and is the best choice for ventilation, capable of delivering a flow rate of up to 3000m3/h. Thanks to its EC centrifugal fans, overall power consumption is minimised, while delivering a high static pressure, up to 700 Pa, to accommodate the needs of more complex installations requiring extended ductwork. The new unit is equipped with a counter-flow plate aluminum heat exchanger, which is fully compliant with accepted hygiene and fire resistance standards.
The unit recovers up to 90% of thermal energy and provides filtration classes up to F7/F9 for best indoor air quality condition and energy efficiency. The unit can also control Constant Air Flow or Constant Pressure in the duct as necessary.
Daikin has developed a wide range of air handling and ventilation solutions over the years. The new units have added to the portfolio to offer the installer and user a diverse choice, from plug &play units to fully customised systems designed to meet the most demanding customer requirements.
Available from this month, both systems can be used as stand-alone or combined with Sky Air and VRV systems to offer a complete heating, cooling and ventilation solution for total climate control.
