Inspiration journey 2023 took the Daikin Kings to Dubai

Press release, October 2023

Every year, Daikin Central Europe honors its top-performing partners in the CE-region in one of three categories: highest turnover, highest customer satisfaction, and innovative projects. This year’s 39 winners, the so called Daikin Kings, embarked on an inspiration journey to the vibrant city of Dubai, a city driving innovations in the construction industry while promoting comfortable and sustainable HVAC solutions.

Vienna, Dubai, October 2023 – “At Daikin, value-driven partnerships with our network of installers and wholesalers, totaling more than 2,500 in the CE region, are based on the principles of mutual exchange and inspiration from the latest innovations for sustainable HVAC solutions in the construction industry. As Dubai has become a global hub for technological advancements and sustainable practices, it was the perfect destination for this year's Daikin Kings inspiration journey to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our valued partners and foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among industry leaders”, says Carl Lievens, Managing Director Daikin Central Europe.

“Today, the HVAC and energy sector plays a central role in global efforts to decarbonize buildings and reduce their environmental impact. Together with our partners, we can pave the way to a greener and more sustainable future through our broad portfolio of heat pump solutions that are compatible with renewable energy sources like photovoltaic systems, for example”, emphasizes Markus Haas, Deputy Managing Director of Daikin Central Europe. Therefore, visiting the 'Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park,' the world's largest solar park based on the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model, was one of the many inspiring moments for the group. With a planned production capacity of 5,000 MW by 2030, the solar park will save over 6.5 million tons of carbon emissions annually.

An outstanding example of a future-proof building concept that the Daikin Kings visited on their inspiration journey was the Sustainability Pavilion in Dubai’s Expo City. It is a completely self-sufficient building in terms of energy and water supply, located in the desert in a more than difficult environment. “Reaching such an autonomous status is an impressive achievement and it should be a goal for all buildings wherever possible in the next decade”, says Lievens.

As a leading provider of heating, cooling, ventilation, air purification, and refrigeration technology in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Daikin has been designing, manufacturing, and offering a wide range of products, maintenance services, and turnkey solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial purposes for almost 100 years. “In Europe, energy-efficient heating and cooling systems have taken top priority due to the energy crisis and economic circumstances since 2022. Together with our partners, Daikin is ready to contribute to the global shift toward eco-friendly practices in homes and businesses", concludes Haas.
