Vienna, August 2024 – Daikin launches two new plug-and-play air purifier models to effectively improve indoor air quality and give access to real-time insights on air quality. The models MCK70Z and MC80Z connect to Daikin’s Onecta app, which allows users to control, monitor and schedule air purification through a smartphone or tablet. The app gives insights into both indoor and outdoor air quality data. Indoor air quality is measured through the sensors integrated in Daikin’s new air purifiers, while outdoor air quality data is made available via Google Maps Platform.
Urge for improving indoor air quality of homes and offices
With growing awareness of pollution and allergens, indoor air quality has never been more important. Based on recent data from the EU’s air quality status 2024 by the European Environment Agency, despite ongoing overall improvements in air quality, current EU standards are still not met across Europe. 96% of the EU’s urban population is exposed to unsafe concentrations of fine particulate matter (PM2.5).1) Daikin’s new air purifiers can make a difference for indoor air environments as they effectively capture and clean indoor air from airborne particles, including fine particulate matter such as PM2.5, PM10, pollen, pet hair and other harmful substances.
Both units are equipped with patented Streamer technology that capture and decompose fine harmful particles, ensuring that the air is cleaner and healthier. With a sleek and stylish design, the MCK70Z and MC80Z units easily fit into any space and interior. They are particularly suited for larger living rooms and light commercial spaces such as schools, offices, shops and hotels.
Like the previous air purifier models, they have long filter lifetimes of 10 years, which saves users the trouble and expense of replacing filters frequently. Their whisper-quiet operation makes them well-suited for use even in sound sensitive areas, such as bedrooms and any space that requires concentrated work.
Full control over indoor air quality
Both units come with integrated WLAN functionality and can be controlled with a smartphone or tablet via the Daikin Onecta app, which is the same app used for managing Daikin’s air-to-air and air-to-water heat pumps. Controls include real-time monitoring of the indoor and outdoor air quality, visualisation of PM2.5 levels, management of the units and advanced scheduling options.

Daikin’s work with Google Maps Platform
While the PM2.5 sensors in Daikin’s air purifiers measure the indoor air quality, the outdoor air quality information is brought to users thanks to the collaboration with Google Maps Platform.
By integrating outdoor air quality & pollen data from Google Maps Platform together with Daikin’s indoor air quality data, the quality of both indoor and outdoor air is simply available through the Daikin Onecta App. This ensures that customers have high awareness about the air quality they breathe. As indoor air quality (IAQ) experts with decades of experience, our mission is to provide both indoor and outdoor air quality data so that customers can be better informed.
The information on outdoor air quality and pollen levels is available via the Daikin Onecta app.
MCK70Z – the ultimate air purifier with humidification
The MCK70Z model additionally comes with a humidification function, making it an ideal solution for homes and light commercial spaces with low humidity levels. It is designed to cover a surface of up to 96m² (calculated in accordance with JEM1467) with CADR of 375 m³/h, making it ideal for use in medium-sized rooms, including living rooms and offices. If humidification is the main purpose, the recommended room sizes range up to a surface of 30 m² with a humidification rate of 700 ml/h.

MC80Z – a powerful air purifier covering large surface area
The MC80Z model is the other new top-of-the-line air purifier that offers exceptional performance and is designed to cover an applicable surface of up to 124m² (calculated in accordance with JEM1467) with CADR of 480 m³/h, making it ideal for use in larger living rooms as well as spaces such as small conference rooms or classrooms.
