Product news / Brussels, 10 July 2026 – The X Series is Daikin’s first residential system to combine air-to-air technology for heating and cooling, and air-to-water technology for hydronic heating and domestic hot water. All from a single outdoor unit. Daikin announces the launch of the X Series, a next-generation mixed heat pump system designed to deliver complete comfort year-round.
For the first time, one Daikin system combines air-to-air heating and cooling, hydronic heating such as underfloor heating, as well as domestic hot water production. The X Series brings air-to-air and air-to-water technology together in a single integrated solution for new and modernized homes up to 150 m².
The X Series will be launched across Europe in phases from September 2026 onwards. Exact availability and on-sale dates may vary by country.
One solution for every season
Every season brings different comfort needs. The X Series is a purpose-built system to meet all of them, simultaneously and efficiently, from a single outdoor unit. Designed for new-build and fully renovated homes where outdoor space is limited, it addresses a growing market need. One integrated system covers all aspects of indoor climate and hot water, without the complexity and footprint of separate systems.
The mixed technology behind the comfort
At the heart of the system is a single outdoor unit with five connections, combining the functionality of a multi air-to-air heat pump and a Daikin Altherma air-to-water heat pump in one integrated solution.
Air-to-water heat pump
One Daikin Altherma hydronic indoor unit (5) for underfloor heating, radiators, and domestic hot water. Two tank sizes are available: 180 litres and 230 litres, suitable for the hot water demand of most residential households.
Air-to-air heat pumps
Up to four air-to-air indoor units (1-4) can be connected, covering heating and cooling throughout the home. Homeowners can choose from a full range of indoor unit types to suit any room and interior style: wall-mounted units, floor-standing units, concealed ceiling (ducted) units or cassette units.
That architecture makes the X Series unique in Daikin’s residential portfolio. Its adaptable configuration allows systems to be installed step by step, while air-to-air and air-to-water work simultaneously in the same mode. It is a future-ready solution that evolves with the home and with every season.
Monitored energy consumption
The X Series connects fully with the Daikin Onecta app, giving homeowners complete control from anywhere. Remote management of temperature, scheduling, domestic hot water management and energy consumption monitoring for the connected air-to-air indoor units is available at all times, with additional voice control compatibility via tools such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Built for flexibility
For installers: The X Series fits seamlessly into any home layout thanks to its space-saving, adaptable configuration. Using R-32 refrigerant, no special safety precautions are required on site, and a wide choice of indoor unit types allows the system to be tailored to any room or interior style. With just one outdoor unit, there are fewer components to commission, Service and maintain, keeping installation straightforward and running costs low.

The X Series is supported by Daikin’s Stand By Me platform, providing homeowners and installers with a comprehensive suite of after-sales support services:
- Simple product registration
- Warranty information and management
- Service scheduling and appointment booking
- Access to Daikin’s nationwide service network for rapid technical support
